Rental Returns Procedure
If you've taken advantage of car hire at Dublin Airport, then you'll be able to wrap up your stay in Ireland's capital with minimal hassle. Europcar's return depot is close to the Departure Hall, so you can be on your way to the check-in desks in no time.
The airport is just a few kilometres north of the city centre, which means driving in from your hotel couldn't be more convenient. Taxis in Dublin are notoriously expensive, especially when the airport is the final destination. This holds especially true if your flight departs at an odd hour, as taxi drivers are reluctant to drive out to the terminal if they don't think a return fare is in their immediate future. Opposite this, Dublin's public bus network may be cheap enough to suit backpackers and students, but the average traveller would much rather circumvent bus timetables in favour of cheap car hire in Dublin Airport.
Dublin Airport lies northeast of the M1 and M50 crossroads. The route from the city centre to the terminal sticks to these major motorways, and the airport exit is clearly marked. To drop off your hire car, simply follow the signs to Eastlands Business Park, where the Europcar / Irish Car Rentals depot is located. On-site associates will run your paperwork on the spot and see you aboard the complimentary airport shuttle.
From here, it's just a couple of minutes to the Departures entrance. The Dublin Airport Authority recommends arriving 90 minutes ahead of an international departure just to give you time to check in and clear security.
