Hotels in Dublin City

Accommodations in the heart of Dublin City are more varied than those close to the airport. From luxury suites to more modest bed and breakfast affairs, visitors wishing to stay in the city centre will have a lot of options to choose from. When taking advantage of car hire in Dublin City, make sure to inquire with your hotel about their parking facilities.

Centrally located luxury hotels include the Hilton Dublin Kilmainham Hotel on Inchicore Road south of the river. With car rental in Dublin City, it's easy to connect from here to any major attraction in the metropolitan area.

Located right up the street from Europcar's Dublin City depot, the recently renovated Best Western Ashling Hotel at 8 Parkgate is a four-star hotel with moderately priced rooms. Overlooking Smithfield Square, Park Inn Dublin features free WiFi and satellite TV. Maldron Hotel Smithfield, 7 Smithfield, is priced at the upper end of the moderate category.

An interesting alternative to more conventional hotels is the short-stay apartment.

Moderately priced Ellis Quay Apartments, 5 John Street North, overlooking the river, provides free breakfast the first morning as well as free WiFi internet. A few blocks south of the Liffey, Augustine Apartments in The Coombe is a similar option.

Harcourt Hotel is an inexpensive hotel housed in a Georgian-era building near Stephen's Green. Situated in an historic Georgian corner building, O'Sheas Hotel, 19 Talbot Street, is an excellent value for a central location. The sister location, O'Sheas Merchant Hotel in Merchant's Quay, is another reasonable deal.

There are several low-priced options in the immediate area around Europcar's Dublin City office. Phoenix Park House Hotel at 39 Parkgate, a budget-priced bed and breakfast, is just a few blocks west of the office. Gatelodge Guest House, 3 Conyngham Road, is within view of Phoenix Park and serves either a full Irish breakfast or a vegetarian version.
