Kerry Airport is located midway between Tralee and the picturesque town of Killarney. The airport caters for flights by Aer Lingus who fly to Dublin Airport and Ryanair who provide connections with Frankfurt, London and seasonal holiday destinations around Europe. Kerry Airport is a small airport, so customers can expect to land, collect their luggage and collect their rental car from Europcar extremely quickly.
The beauty of County Kerry is world famous, with towns such as Killarney, Dingle and Kenmare being extremely popular with tourists. For customers renting a car with Europcar, County Kerry offers a number of incredibly beautiful drives including the Ring of Kerry and the Slea Head Drive on the Dingle Peninsula. However, attractions such as Gap of Dunloe, Conor’s Pass and the Blasket Island are individually different, but experiences that will never be forgotten.
For the more adventurous traveller, Skellig Michael which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site is located 12km off the coast of Valentia Island. This island, one of several pinnacle shaped islands in the area, is famous as a remote monastery settlement which was established between the 6th and 8th Centuries before being abandoned during the 12th Century. The monastic settlement is made up of six beehive shaped stone structures and two oratories. Remote doesn’t begin to describe what life must have been like for the monks on this island.
In the main tourist towns, almost all pubs offer a combination of food and live music. However, if luxury is what you are after, County Kerry is home to a number of 5 star hotels, with Muckross Park Hotel & Spa and Park Hotel Kenmare being of particular note.
