How can I pay for my rental?
At Europcar Ireland, payment is taken at the time of vehicle collection (pick-up), not at the end of the rental. Please review our accepted payment methods and procedures below:
- Prepaid Online Bookings ("Pay Online"): Your rental charges are paid at the time of booking. However, you must still present an eligible payment card at pick-up to provide a security deposit hold.
- Pay on Arrival / Station Bookings: Both the full rental charges and the required security deposit are authorized/charged at the Europcar desk when you collect the vehicle. Missing fuel upon return will be settled at drop-off.
- Debit Cards: Major debit cards (Visa Debit and Mastercard Debit in the main driver’s name) are accepted for both rental payment and security deposits.
- Europcar Vouchers: Official Europcar hire vouchers are accepted for rental charges (a payment card is still required for the deposit).Credit Cards: Major credit cards are accepted, including Visa, Mastercard, and American Express (in the name of the main driver).
- Debit Cards: Major debit cards (Visa Debit and Mastercard Debit in the main driver’s name) are accepted for both rental payment and security deposits.
- Europcar Vouchers: Official Europcar hire vouchers are accepted for rental charges (a payment card is still required for the deposit).
- Cash & Cheques: Strictly not accepted for rental payments or security deposits under any circumstances.
- Charge Cards & Direct Debit: Store charge cards, Diners Club, and company charge cards without credit facility are not accepted.
- Prepaid, Virtual, or Crypto Cards: Single-use virtual cards (e.g. temporary Revolut virtual cards) and non-embossed prepaid cards cannot be used for the security deposit hold.
