- Be aware of the height of the vehicle and check it will fit under any structures such as low bridges or car park entrances.
- Plan your route in advance and make sure it doesn’t include any roads that are unsuitable for large vehicles, particularly if you’re driving through rural areas.
- You might need more space for turning than you’re used to, so make sure you allow for this when parking and manoeuvring.
- You may need to allow extra space for braking if you’re carrying a heavy load
- Remember that visibility won’t be the same as driving a car – you may be relying on just your wing mirrors if there isn’t a rear view mirror or if the rear view is obscured by your load.
