Rent an automatic car

Booking an automatic transmission car rental helps you focus on the road by not having to shift gears so you can enjoy sitting behind the wheel.
Even those who normally drive a manual car often choose to rent a vehicle with automatic transmission for convenience, especially when renting in cities or places you are not familiar with or in a foreign country where the driving rules are sometimes different.
A growing proportion of the Europcar fleet is composed of car models with automatic transmission including Renault Captur, Toyota C-HR Hybrid, Volkswagen Golf, Skoda Octavia, Toyota Yaris, Audi A4, Audi A6 and BMW 1 Series.

Rent a green car: electric car or a hybrid model

Whether your plans in Ireland include sightseeing or business or both, renting an electric car is a great idea. There are many advantages to rent an electric car (also called EV's as in 'Electric Vehicle') for your next trip. The greatest benefit is a reduced environmental impact as electric cars are greener than a thermal car as they emit no CO2, nitrogen, or other air pollution particles into the air.

If you rent a hybrid vehicle, your car will come with either a thermal engine to which is added an electric engine to enable you to reduce your fuel consumption, or a Plug-in Hybrid car model which can drive 60 km in electric mode thanks a rechargeable engine, then it switches to hybrid when the battery is empty. On top of being cleaner, vehicles running on electric engine and a rechargeable battery also allow you to save up to 80% on fuel costs, with many European cities now offering more and more charging points available around cities and even smaller towns.
In some European countries, in order to reduce carbon emissions, several cities have defined either “traffic restriction zones” (ZCR) where the traffic is permanently restricted to specific car models with low or no carbon emissions. There are also “air protection zones” (ZPA) that can impact a large area but are only valid for a few days usually during heat weaves in summer. Driving an electric car or hybrid vehicle will give you the freedom to move around those areas with no restrictions.
Our affordable rates and large fleet of electric car rental vehicles make it easy to drive a green car: the Nissan Leaf small electric car is ideal for your city trips,  or the stylish electric Hyundai Kona with its sporty and dynamic look.
